In our daily venture in life we always face numbers and conversion. These numbers may appear on different forms and are being converted in many ways as well. They may be through kilometers, meters, inches, units, liters, grams and many more and needs to be converted vice versa.

Numbers may appear not fun to mostly of us, especially if we do not have the strong foundation of our educational background. What makes it and dealings about numbers more complicated is the conversion that must be done. Of course we know we could not avoid it due to some economical reasons. And one of the most common units needed to be converted is 160 cm in feet and inches.

Centimeters or cm is a unit of height. Same thing goes with the feet (ft) and inches (in). Yet, they differ in the quantity of the units. A centimeter is smaller in quantity than the feet and inches thus, converting it to a higher degree is appearing complicated to those not quiet good at mathematics and or numbers.

Simply saying, the 260 centimeters is equivalent or has the same value of 5 feet and 3 inches. How did we arrive at the unit? Well, there could actually be many ways but let us try to sort it down to the simplest we could have. So we are going to divide the 160 centimeters to a foot in inch unit. Or simply saying 160 centimeters divided by 2.54 inches. Then we get the value of 63 inches. Thus, a 160 centimeter tall is also 63 inches tall. But since we have to give the feet and inches unit then we go further down the conversion. A foot has 12 inches. Thus, 63 inches shall be divided into a foot or the 12 inches. And so, we get the final answer of 5 inches and 3 feet.

Other than these, you may use an online conversion to ease your worries. Also, never forget to double check all your solutions and answers especially if you are a beginner. But as a member of the mathematicians' club on my younger years, and as an advocate of tourism and education, I would still suggest you go over solving and never trust what the online thing could offer.

People may vary their own way of conversion depending on the learning from past mathematics classes or from experience. Some may even have their own built shortcuts and secrets of solving. Yet, as to whatever manner things have had been done, what matters is the keeping of the principle and derivation of the answer. Still, the end meets the means.
